Doctoral Research
I am currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Hull exploring parents' lived experiences of maternity investigations following perinatal death.
My research examines how bereaved families experience the investigation process, including communication, involvement, relationships with investigators, the investigation report and the search for answers following perinatal death.
The research aims to inform how maternity investigations work with and support families, translating families' experiences into meaningful learning for maternity safety and investigation practice.

My research and professional practice are closely connected, with a particular focus on maternity safety, investigation, family experience and learning following adverse outcomes.
I am committed to ensuring that my expert opinion is informed by current evidence, contemporary maternity practice and a wider understanding of how care, systems and decision-making interact.
