I am an independent midwifery expert witness specialising in CTG interpretation and intrapartum care, with particular expertise in identifying failures to recognise and appropriately escalate abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.

I am regularly instructed in complex clinical negligence cases involving hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE), neonatal injury, stillbirth and maternal death. My work includes detailed assessment of intrapartum care, escalation, clinical decision-making and contribution to outcome.

I previously worked as a Maternity Investigator with the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch/Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigations, where I reviewed serious maternity incidents and complex care pathways. This experience provides a detailed understanding of both individual clinical decision-making and wider system factors.

In addition to clinical negligence work, I have experience in Fitness to Practise proceedings, including assessment against the NMC Code and professional standards.

I provide independent, objective and evidence-based opinions that assist the court.
